This year, we held another bioblitz activity, but with kids this time, to encourage them to observe with curiosity and understand how making observations through the app contributes to citizen science. It is also a great way to discover the biodiversity of any area of interest. Teenagers with phones were paired with youngers kids who had no phones. In small groups, they were off to find animals during the early night. With the help of torches and headlights, the kids were able to find frogs, spiders, and insects. More than a dozen of observations were made that night. It doesn’t sound like much, however, it takes quite a bit of effort to make kids actually finish uploading their observations on the app. What mattered was their cultivated team work skills and curiosity.
