2023-2024 Biodiversity Observations (422 species, 1187 observations) – A milestone!

Writer: jenkjuhujenkjuhu

In just 2 years, we recruited 23 members and 15 observers who have contributed to our iNaturalist project (join here). We’ve accumulated 1187 observations consisting of 422 species. Breaking them down into taxonomic groups, we’ve observed 216 plants, 124 insects, 19 fungi, 15 arachnids, 10 amphibians, 15 birds, 9 reptiles and others. The most observed birds were the Crested Serpent Eagle and Taiwan barbet. Moltrecht’s green tree frog and Formosan muntjac were also another popular sighting. During summer, we observed an abundance of Purple Crow butterflies and Ceylon Blue Glassy Tiger butterflies. Among plants, our observers have mostly seen figs and oak trees as they are considered dominant in our park.
